The purpose of the AmericaView, Inc. Member Services Program is to foster and support the growth of individual StateView Programs through a combination of annual Affiliate membership opportunities, funding opportunities for Full Members, and other collaborative research and project opportunities.

AmericaView Web Site

AmericaView maintains a web site to provide an overview of the AmericaView Consortium, including background and history, contact information, news and events, and organizational goals and objectives. The site is hosted and maintained at Montana State University, Bozeman. For additional information about the site, contact Debbie Deagen, AmericaView Program Manager (debbie.deagen@montana.edu). For information about the AmericaView Consortium, contact Rick Landenberger, Executive Director (rick.landenberger@mail.wvu.edu).

AmericaView Forum

The AmericaView Forum is maintained by MississippiView, and provides an online threaded message board for posting on AmericaView education, research, outreach, funding, and administration.  Registration is open at all AmericaView partners and can be done automatically at the web site.  Contact Hal Robinson (hdrobins@olemiss.edu) if you have specific questions.

AV Wiki
The AmericaView Wiki is maintained by Tyler Erickson at MichiganView, and provides a Wiki space for AmericaView documents and information, including information on education, research, outreach, funding, and administration.  Registration is open at all AmericaView partners. Contact Tyler (tyler.erickson@mtu.edu) for edit access.

AV University
The AV University is a collaborative online educational resource for AmericaView partners lead by CaliforniaView and GeorgiaView. The University provides undergraduate remote sensing and related geospatial technology education courses in an online format using PG STEAMER as the remote sensing software. Information is available at the AV University web site, or by contacting JC Seong (jseong@westga.edu), the GeorgiaView Director and AV University web developer.

AmericaView Members Listserv

AmericaView maintains a listserv for daily communication to the membership. It is open to all AmericaView partners. Contact Debbie Deagen  (debbie.deagen@montana.edu) to be included.More information on AmericaView communication tools is available at the AmericaView Wiki

Annual Affiliate Membership Opportunities

Affiliate membership is the entry level mechanism through which an interested institution or developing state consortia may begin participating in AmericaView, Inc. and the USGS AmericaView Program.

Annual Funding Support

StateView program grants are made possible through support from the US Geological Survey's AmericaView Program. There are two types of funding opportunities available through the Member Services Program, annual program maintenance grants (Requests for Continuing Assistance), and new full membership grant (Requests for Assistance). A 15% Indirect Rate applies to both types of grants.

Annual program maintenance grants
Each year, a program maintenance grant is awarded to each Full Member state consortia. These 12-month awards are administered directly by AV, Inc. and are renewable on a non-competitive basis from year-to-year providing satisfactory performance of StateView program goals is achieved.West Virginia


New Full Membership grants
In addition, providing sufficient funding is available, each year the AV Inc. Member Services Program may release a limited Request for Proposals for new Full Memberships. Proposals are panel reviewed and competitively awarded.
 

Collaborative Research and Project Opportunities

AmericaView, Inc. is currently in the process of developing relationships with various partners to develop a variety of outreach, service, research, and training opportunities for its members. As these opportunities develop, descriptive information and appropriate links will be placed here.
